Levi Davis: Family still hoping for breakthrough one month on from rugby player's disappearance - Somerset Live

Today marks one month since Levi Davis went missing while on holiday in Spain. The rugby player has been missing since October 29, when when he left friends in Ibiza and travelled to Barcelona alone.

So far, the ongoing investigation has yielded little information, and the 24-year-old's friends and family are growing concerned as more days goes by without a breakthrough.

Police in Spain discovered his passport in Barcelona after he was seen leaving a pub in the city's La Rambla tourist hotspot at the end of October. While there have been some reported sightings of the X-Factor star around Spain, Levi's mum, Julie Davis, has cast doubt on whether it was him that was spotted, reports The Mirror.

The Worthing Raiders rugby player headed out to Ibiza after receiving an injury. However, it was reported he suddenly left a friend he was staying with and caught a boat from the island to Barcelona without clothes or cash.

Since arriving in the city, police have confirmed Levi had not used his phone or accessed his bank account. Julie said he had been "quite down lately" and that his disappearance has "left us all very worried."

What happened to Levi Davis?

Levi was last seen on October 29 after telling a close friend, Richard Squire, he was leaving to see friends in the Catalan capital. Richard, 46, told The Sun: "He announced suddenly that he was going to meet friends in Barcelona.

"But he didn't say who they were and we haven't heard from him since I received a video from the Irish pub on October 29. There's been no word from him since and his family and everyone who knows him is getting increasingly worried."

Levi had left all of his belongings at his friend's house, taking only a small black backpack with him. He then arrived in Barcelona by ferry on October 29, and was last sighted later that evening.

CCTV footage obtained by The Mirror shows Levi leaving the Old Irish Pub in La Rambla at 10.05pm that night. He has not been seen or heard from since.

The video shows Levi carrying a small black backpack, wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, black trousers, and black and white trainers. Since arriving in Barcelona, officers said he had not accessed his bank accounts, or used his phone. His mobile phone signal was last tracked to near Barcelona's Sants mainline station overnight on the October 29.

A witness reportedly told Levi's family he had seen him near La Boqueria Market, just a six minute walk from the Irish pub he was last seen in. One week later, he was also apparently sighted in Placa Sant Agusti Vell, a homeless area minutes away from Barcelona's Arc de Triomf monument by the same person.

Julie Davis said she would be heading to Spain to join the search for her son earlier this month

The anonymous person told Levi's agent and close friend Tom Varndell he looked "lost and confused". Tom said: ""They said, 'I shouldn't have told you anything in the first place, but I saw the tweets and felt bad'.

"They said he was seen at Placa Sant Agusti this morning [Monday, November 14], which is usually transited by homeless people."

But Julie has since cast doubt on these sightings. Levi's mum previously flew out to Barcelona to join in the hunt for her son before flying back to her home in Birmingham. Julie told The Mail: ""There have been a few sightings of someone looking like Levi near La Boqueria Market and the Arc de Triomf monument over the last week but sadly we are not sure it's him."

Earlier in November, police revealed they had found Levi's passport in their investigations. Julie said: ""This is a very worrying development because you cannot do anything in Barcelona without a passport.

"Besides travel, you cannot book into a hotel or even rent somewhere without one. We know that his phone and two bank accounts have been untouched since he disappeared and so this is another blow."

Levi Davis has been missing for a full month, but his family haven't given up the search

Tom added: "It's not just a guy trying to stay off the radar, no one stays away this long. News about his passport is quite significant."

It is also understood that police have confirmed Levi is not in hospital and has not been arrested. Julie adds that he did not provide an address of where he was staying as he planned to be "moving around".

The worried mum went on to tell Spanish Daily ABC that he had depression and had gone missing on previous occasions - but for "no more than two or three days".

She said: "He would always come back or we would find him but it's been 12 days now and this is not normal. He must be disorientated or confused."

Tom launched a GoFundMe paid and wrote his friend has "struggled with his mental health" and everyone was growing concerned for him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts can email findlevidavis@gmail.com
