Calls for vigilance in Waikiki after armed robbery of Japanese tourist - KITV Honolulu

Honolulu police have opened a first-degree robbery case after a man recently robbed a Japanese tourist in Waikiki.

HONOLULU (Island News)- The Japanese consulate is warning residents and visitors about a recent armed robbery on Waikiki beach.

"I don't go out at night. I will only come to work and then go home," said Waikiki resident Julie Darrell. "So I'm not really enjoying the city I live in. It's just too scared."

Marilyn M. Sipes, 93, of rural Galion in Morrow County went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 29, 2024 at Magnolia Terrace Assisted Living in Galion, Ohio. She was born November 5, 1930 to the late Henry Ward and Viola M. (Marshall) Rinehart in North Bloomfield Twp., Morrow County where she lived her whole life until her move in October of 2023 to Magnolia Terrace. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1948 and married her high school sweetheart, Ivan W. Sipes, on June 12, 1949 at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Morrow County. They exemplified a Godly marriage for over 63 years until Ivan's death on September 22, 2012. Together they lovingly raised their family of two daughters, two sons, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling, especially to visit their family in distant places.
