Tatkal Booking: Going home this Holi and not getting a train ticket? Know how to book tatkal tickets, boo - The Times of India

Every year, Holi brings forth grand celebrations in India, prompting many individuals living away from their families to journey back home to join in the festivities.
Indian Railways facilitates this seasonal influx by operating additional trains to various regions across the country. However, securing a confirmed ticket remains a significant concern for travellers during this busy period. If you find yourself facing this challenge, one option is to try your luck by booking tickets in the Tatkal quota offered by Indian Railways.
To successfully obtain a ticket through the Tatkal window, you must initiate your search one day before your scheduled journey date. This adjustment is due to the reduction of the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for the Tatkal scheme from two days to one, excluding the departure day from the train's originating station.
